  • Charlie is six months old today.  And wow, that was the fastest half a year ever.  Insane.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, the rats built a nest in the engine compartment, chewed up the hood liner, and gnawed on some rather important wires.  Max, the german shepherd got curious about the industrious rats and mauled our bumper trying to congratulate them.  The mice threw a party in the interior of the car, and I ripped off the bottom of the car on a rock.

Marvelous day, happy half birthday Charlie.

  • Awww he’s so cute! What are you going to do about your car? Can it be fixed?

  • aw man ez :( . (well first I should say happy 6 months birthday to Charlie! :) ) I’ve had engine damage by rats before…ughh… chewed my ignition wire to pieces— 3 TIMES… Once Andrew got his tractor and started having some rats building nests in the tractor’s engine, a neighbor recommended leaving the hood open– rats like cozy areas, and if you make it feel open, they won’t nest there. It’s worked marvelously since then :) . Oh we’ve got a German Shepherd named Max too :) . Well it’s really Maximus but everyone just calls him Max :P .

  • whaaat… for realz? yikes. i am soooooo sorry. i am scared of rats. they are gross.
